New Delhi: The Election Commission has started deliberating on delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly here on Tuesday, according to reports.
According to reports, the discussion was on different aspects of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was chaired by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and attended by Election Commissioners (ECs).
This is also the first meeting by the Election Commission on the topic, which comes in the backdrop of the withdrawal of Article 370.
The Centre’s move stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status. Following the scrapping of the special status, Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two Union Territories i.e Jammu and Kashmir with a legislature and Ladakh without one.
