New Delhi: The Election Commission on Wednesday banned the release of Bollywood biopic “PM Narendra Modi” which was slated for screening on April 11.
The biopic on Prime Minister had invited controversies from various political parties relating to the timing of the release of film.
According to reports, the film was granted ‘unrestricted’ (U) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Tuesday.
Actor Vivek Anand Oberoi has the lead role in the film. The movie depicts the story of Narendra Modi right from his humble beginnings to becoming the Prime Minister of India.
The release of the film was to coincide with the commencement of the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls.
