Dry Run Of COVID-19 Vaccine Begins In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A dry run of Covid-19 vaccination programme has commenced in Odisha. The activity is proposed to be conducted in all state capitals in at least 3 session sites.

The objective of the dry run for COVID-19 vaccine introduction is to “assess operational feasibility in the use of COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network (Co-WIN) application in field environment, to test the linkages between planning and implementation and to identify the challenges and guide way forward prior to actual implementation.

The vaccination programme will be conducted at 31 places across the State.

At each point, five vaccinators will be deployed along with 25 healthcare workers. There will be three rooms for the mock drill.

Meanwhile, checking of identity cards and registration of those coming for the vaccination will be done first. After vaccinations, they will be kept in observation for 30 minutes and in case of any side effect, immediate medication will be done.

About 3.70 lakh people including health workers, front line workers and others have been registered for getting the vaccine in the first phase.
