Din Continues In Odisha Assembly Over Naba Das Murder; House Stalled On Day 2

Bhubaneswar: The second day of the Budget session of Odisha Assembly today witnessed heavy pandemonium leading to repeated adjournments as BJP and Congress created ruckus demanding a discussion on the law and order situation in the State. The treasury bench too made din with their demand for discussion on farmers’ issues.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, Congress members rushed to the well and demanded a discussion on Naba Das murder and law and order situation in the State. Similarly, BJP legislators demanded cancellation of Question Hour and discussion on Law and order.

Amid din, the House functioned for a minute only. Unable to run the House, Speaker BK Arukh adjourned it till 11.30 am.

The noisy scene prevailed after the House reassembled. The Opposition members continued to disturb while CM Naveen Patnaik made statement over Naba Das murder.

After the CM’s statement, Speaker again adjourned the House till 4 pm and later 10 am tomorrow.

The Assembly was stalled on the first day in similar way after Opposition members didn’t allow any transaction. After the Governor’s address and obituary reference, the House was adjourned for a day.
