Jakarta: India’s Dharun Ayyasamy won silver medal in Men’s 400m hurdles on the eighth day of the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta on Monday. Dharun by clocking his personal best 48.96s finished second behind Samba Abderrehman of Qatar.
Earlier, Dharun had won a gold medal at the 2016 South Asian games in Guwahati. In the same year, he was part of the relay team that broke the national record and qualified for the Summer Olympics.
Notably, Indian athlete Hima Das and Muhammed Anas won silver medals each in women’s and men’s 400m while Dutee Chand by clocking 11.32s bagged silver medal in the final of women’s 100-metre.
The contingent is now with 38 medals – 7 gold, 11 silver and 20 bronze.
