New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has thanked PM Modi for approving an exclusive subsidy policy for Urea production through coal gasification by Talcher Fertilizers Limited (TFL).
In a series of tweets, Pradhan said the landmark decision will help enhance the global competitiveness of our domestic urea sector. It will also boost indigenous production of urea involving eco-friendly processes. This will help reduce urea imports to the tune of 12.7 LMT per annum, the Union Minister added.
Pradhan said the decision taken on Tuesday will be a game changer in enhancing availability of fertilizers to farmers, creating job opportunities in eastern India and in providing further impetus to the socio-economic development of eastern states, like Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar.
The Purvodaya mission of the Prime Minister will become a reality and Atmanirbhar Bharat will get a boost in the eastern region, the Union Minister added.
