Bhubaneswar: The Union Minister for Education, Skills Development, and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, Monday said that he was deeply saddened to hear about vandalisation of chullahs at Puri Srimandir Rosaghara.
Condemning the incident, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan too to Twitter and wrote: “The Shree Jagannath Temple holds a significant identity for the entire Odia race and vandalisation of the chullahs at the Rosaghara has left me distressed.”
“Lord Shree Jagannath is the center of faith and belief of the people of Odisha and of the Hindu community all over the world. The Lord’s Mahaprasad has a unique relationship with the shrine. It is unfortunate that the kitchen furnace has been vandalised thus disrupting preparation of Abadha,” said Pradhan.
Pradhan said that the sentiments of Odia people are associated with the Mahaprasad, which is compared to nectar. It is the belief of the Odia people that Goddesses Lakshmi and Hingula dwell in the kitchen of Lord Jagannath.
The Union Minister further stated that the state government and the Srimandir administration should take the incident seriously and devise precautionary measures so that such incident does not happen again in the future.
