Mumbai: In a significant political development, Devendra Fadnavis has been unanimously elected as the Leader of the Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party.
The decision was made during a core committee meeting attended by senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
Fadnavis, who has previously served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, received overwhelming support from the newly-elected MLAs.
His name was proposed by former state minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and seconded by several other party members. This unanimous decision reflects the confidence the party has in Fadnavis’ leadership and his ability to steer the state towards progress.
