Detailed probe on Anup Sai’s link with double-murder case underway: Chhattisgarh Police
Jharsuguda/Bhubaneswar: Providing further information regarding the double murder-accused Anup Sai, IG Dipanshu Kabra of Chhattisgarh Police stated that they will continue the detailed investigation into the case. He also stated that the evidence present with the police is enough to prove Sai guilty of the crime.
Addressing the media, IGP Kabra stated that they will dig in to trace shreds of evidence at various locations in Odisha including that of Bhubaneswar and the hotel he stayed in. This will eventually lead to joining dots and tracing the crime.
Police also stated that Sai has sold the house, where his paramour Kalpana Das and the latter’s 14-year-old daughter Babli used to stay. Cops also stated that this act might have destroyed a few pieces of evidence.
Kabra stated that even though it had been four years since the murder was executed, they were determined to apprehend the accused. He further informed that the suspected Innova car used for the murder has been also seized.
Notably, former MLA of Brajrajnagar, Anup Sai, prime accused in the brutal murder of his paramour Kalpana Das and the latter’s 14-year-old daughter Babli in May 2016, was arrested on February 13. The mutilated bodies of the woman and her daughter were found near Sakambari plant on Hamirpur Marg near Raigarh in Chhattisgarh on May 7, 2016.
After four years of investigation and interrogation of more than 500 persons, the police traced Anup Sai link with the murder. However, at first, they were unable to arrest Sai due to his influence. But after gathering enough pieces of evidence, the police arrested him and also his driver, who abetted him the crime.
