New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the President’s address, remarking on his third term and the outcomes of the recent Lok Sabha elections in his Lok Sabha speech, He acknowledged the people’s mandate to serve the nation once again.
Amid opposition uproar, PM Modi thanked the new MPs for their exemplary behaviour and contributions to the debate.
“Many MPs shared their perspectives on the President’s address yesterday and today. I am grateful to the new MPs who articulated their thoughts on the President’s address, adhering to the House’s protocols,” stated PM Modi.
He added, “In the past two days, numerous MPs, particularly the newcomers to Parliament, have voiced their opinions on the President’s address. They observed parliamentary decorum, displaying the poise of seasoned MPs.
Their participation as first-time members has brought honour to the House and enriched the debate with their insights.”
Reflecting on the recent elections, PM Modi stated, “The public has chosen us in the world’s largest election campaign and I can understand the pain of some people. Despite spreading lies continuously, they suffered a huge defeat.”

During the session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla admonished the Opposition MPs for their disruptions and slogans while the Prime Minister spoke.
PM Modi reaffirmed his administration’s anti-corruption stance, declaring, “Upon assuming power in 2014, we pledged zero tolerance for corruption. Corruption had infested the nation like termites. Yet, our citizens have endorsed our unwavering stance against corruption.”
He also underscored India’s enhanced global reputation, stating, “India’s credibility has soared globally… Every policy, decision, and action of ours has been guided by the ‘India first’ principle.”
“Our singular focus is ‘nation first’, ‘India first’. Our policies, decisions, and efforts are measured against the ‘India first’ yardstick. For the past decade, our governance has been driven by the motto ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’. The country has long experienced politics of appeasement; we have adopted ‘santushtikaran’ (satisfaction) over appeasement,” stressed PM Modi.
He assured the citizens, “I promise that we are committed to a developed India and will strive to achieve this goal with utmost dedication and integrity, dedicating every moment to this resolve.”
PM Modi’s speech highlighted the government’s dedication to eradicating corruption, prioritizing national interests, and promoting inclusive growth.
Earlier today, he encouraged NDA MPs to comply with parliamentary regulations and to take lessons from experienced members. This advice comes amid recent strains that emerged after the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi’s speech.
