Bhubaneswar: In view of the dense fog alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for several parts of Odisha till Monday morning, the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) today issued an advisory for controlled plying of vehicles on National Highways (NHs).
In a letter to all Collectors, Superintendents of Police and the transport department officials, the Additional Commissioner, Relief advised taking necessary steps for controlled plying of vehicles on NHs during dense fog.
The advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure to prevent road accidents in different parts of the State.
As per the IMD bulletin, dense fog is very likely to occur in the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Kandhamal, Angul, and Cuttack from tonight till Sunday morning.
Similarly, dense fog is very likely to occur in the districts of Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Kandhamal, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Kendrapara from Sunday night till Monday morning.
