Talcher: A man allegedly beat his mother to death after she refused to give him money to buy drugs at Ghantapada village under Colliery police limits here.
The identity of the accused was not known immediately.
According to reports, the accused allegedly picked up a quarrel with his mother and demanded some cash to purchase drugs. When the victim expressed her inability to give him the money, he allegedly assaulted her.
The situation turned ugly after the accused beat her to death.
On being informed, police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
A case was registered and the accused was arrested under relevant Sections of IPC, said sources.
