Puri: The developmental work on Shree Jagannath Heritage Corridor Project and Shree Lingaraj Temple Heritage Project resumed today.
With this, the demolition drive for renovation of in and around areas of Puri Jagannath Temple and the shrine of Lord Lingaraj which was halted for almost two months due to the lockdown imposed to arrest the spread of COVID19 in the State resumed today.
The demolition and removal of debris in the holy town of Puri began from the northern side of the 75-metre radius.
On the other hand, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation authorities also resumed the stalled eviction and demolition work around the Lingaraj Temple in the city. The Government had decided to initiate an Ekamra Kshetra Yojana on 66 acres of peripheral land for the beautification of the 11th Century Shiva temple.
Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday had said the development works at Lord Jagannath Temple and Lingaraj Temple will begin from May 29.
