Demand for HC bench: 2-day economic blockade in Koraput
Koraput: The District Joint Action Committee today launched a two-day economic blockade in Koraput demanding the establishment of a permanent bench of Orissa High Court here.
While all State and Central government offices remained closed in the district, vehicular communication continues to be normal.
According to reports, the agitators intend to stop all the vehicles carrying raw materials like coal, cement, rod, and sand to various industrial institutions in the district.
This apart, the outfit picketed at different places in the city areas to press for their demand.
Despite repeated pleas for setting up a permanent bench of the state’s apex judiciary body in the undivided Koraput the government has failed to take their demands into consideration. Following this, the members have called for the bandh.
