New Delhi: There is no signs of improvement as the national capital’s air quality continues in ‘severe’ category with the AQI recorded at 466.
This continues despite the cold weather conditions prevailing in Delhi on Thursday morning. According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the overall AQI at 7 am was recorded at 466.
SAFAR stated that under the influence of approaching western disturbance along with increased surface winds and improved ventilation, AQI is forecast to improve to the higher-end of the ‘very poor’ category on Thursday.
City-based doctors have suggested that residents should avoid all physical activity outdoors and stop activity level if they experience any unusual coughing and chest discomfort.
December 2019 recorded an 18-day ‘cold spell’ and the coldest December in 119 years.
