Delhi registers highest single-day fatality logs, 131 Covid deaths

New Delhi: Delhi recorded highest single-day fatality count till date as it witnessed 131 Covid-related deaths in last 24 hours that pushed the toll to 7943.

Delhi also registered 7,486 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking the infection tally in the city to over 5 lakh.

The new cases came out of over 62,000 tests conducted the previous day, marking a positivity rate of 12.03 per cent amid the festive season and rising pollution in the national capital, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Delhi health department.

For the past several days, Delhi has been adding the maximum number of cases towards the country’s daily Covid-19 tally.
