New Delhi: The Delhi NCR witnessed improvement on Thursday with favourable weather condition bringing Air Quality Index (AQI) in the ‘Moderate’ category.

The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) said Delhi recorded an overall AQI of 109 on Thursday morning.

While an AQI between 50-100 is considered ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 signifies ‘moderate’ followed by 201-300 which means ‘poor’ and 301-400 that is a sign of ‘very poor’ air quality.

An overall AQI between 401-500 is a sign of ‘hazardous’ air while an overall AQI above 500 leads to ‘severe plus emergency’ levels of air pollution.

Reports said neighbouring settlements in the NCR also enjoyed improved air quality on Thursday morning.
