New Delhi: At least ten students from different government and private colleges in Delhi-NCR have been arrested for allegedly molesting students of Delhi University’s Gargi College.
Atul Kumar Thakur, deputy commissioner of police (south district), said the arrested students are all aged between 18 and 25 years.
Two days after students of Delhi’s Gargi College alleged sexual assault by over 30 men on campus during their annual cultural fest, police has arrested 10 people in the case.
Over 11 police teams were investigating the technical details and looking for suspects all over the national capital. Multiple people have been questioned and many suspects identified. Gargi College authorities were also questioned in the matter.
Last Thursday, during the college fest “Reverie”, a number of inebriated and unruly men forced into the all-girls college in south Delhi and chased the girls all over the campus, eyewitnesses said on social media. Students, teachers claimed the police and security guards did nothing to stop them.
