Damasahi GP Ex-Sarpanch Convicted in Vigilance Corruption Case

Nayagarh: Bibhuti Bhusan Harichandan, Former Sarpanch of Damasahi GP, Dist-Nayagarh has been convicted in a vigilance corruption case and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment of 3 years. Bibhuti Bhusan Harichandan, who was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(c) PC Act 1988/409/468/471 IPC, for misappropriation of Govt. money to the tune of Rs 4.84 Lakhs by using cheques forging the signature of the executive officer from IAY, TFC & GP fund joint accounts of the GP. He was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and a fine of Rs 25,000. function
