Bhubaneswar: As the overall Covid-19 positivity rate has now slipped below 10 percent, the state is witnessing a gradual fall in the daily infection count, informed Director of Health Services Bijay Mohapatra on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons, Mohapatra said,” A Few weeks back, the state had witnessed 23 percent positivity rate, which has now slipped below 10 percent. Now the positivity rate has come down to 9.5 percent and it is a good sign as it reflects that the transmission is decreasing due to surveillance activities.”
“With the state reporting less than 8000 new cases for a few days in a row, the state shows the steps which have been taken to contain the Covid transmission are yielding results. The Odisha government has adopted 3T formula- Track, Testing, and Testing to contain the Covid-19 outbreak in the state, and as per the directions of the Chief Minister, an integrated surveillance activities including door-to-door surveillance is being carried out,” informed Mohapatra.
“14 more labs will be set up in different parts of the state. Already testing has been increased in different parts of the state to track persons infected with the virus early so that proper treatment can be provided to them,” he added.
