Mumbai: Salman Khan’s latest biggie Dabangg 3 recorded a two-day collection figure of around Rs 50 crore, upon release on Friday, as per a report in Box Office India.
Despite the ongoing protests in the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Dabangg 3 was able to mint a good amount on the first day of its release. The film earned Rs 24.5 crore on Friday.
It said that the earnings could easily have been in the range of Rs 55-58 crore net over two days, had there been no law and order problems.
The Prabhudeva-directed film stars Salman Khan along with Sonakshi Sinha and introduces actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee Manjrekar in a pivotal role. The film also features Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep in the role of the villain.
The film ran into controversy when a Hindu right-wing group objected to, what it claimed was a distasteful depiction of Hindus. The makers have voluntarily deleted that bit from the film.
Dabangg 3 released on December 20.
