DA Case: Govt School Teacher With Assets Worth Rs 4.03 Cr Arrested

Paralakhemundi: A school teacher of Gosani block in Gajapati district was on Thursday arrested by Vigilance for amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 4.03 crore.

Dusmant Nayak, was working as an Assistant Teacher at Government Upper Primary School in S Routapur.

During search, it was found that the teacher was in possession of assets worth nearly Rs 4.03 crore which included three triple-storied buildings, five double-storied buildings, eight plots, deposits in different banks, investment in LIC policies, gold and silver ornaments, cash and household articles.

After calculation, it was found that Nayak was in possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 3,27,25,448, which he could not account for satisfactorily.

Vigilance officials said basing on the allegation of the teacher possessing disproportionate assets, the sleuths conducted raids on the property possessed by Nayak.

A case was registered against the school teacher and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur. He has been remanded to judicial custody till December 23, official sources said.
