DA Case: Assets Worth Over Rs 5 Cr Belonging To College Principal Identified

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials have so far unearthed assets worth over Rs 5 crore during simultaneous house searches on the properties of Ramesh Chandra Sahoo, Principal, Hira Nila College, Biswanathpur in Kalahandi district.

The Vigilance conducted searches on Sahoo’s properties at five places in Khordha and Kalahandi districts following an allegation of possession of disproportionate assets to his known sources of income against him, said an official press release.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 5 crores have been unearthed in the name of Sahoo and his family members: one single-storeyed building at Biswanathpur in Kalahandi district worth over Rs24.43 lakh; one simplex house at Dumduma Housing Board colony in Bhubaneswar worth Rs 16 lakh; 3 crusher units at Khordha and Pokharibandh, Biswanathpur, Kalahandi worth Rs 2.85 crores; one plot at Pokharibandh, Biswanathpur in Kalahandi district; 2 four-wheelers (Mahindra XUV 500 & TATA Safari car) worth Rs 25 lakhs; 4 Trucks / Tippers worth Rs 51 lakh; 2 earthmovers (JCBs) worth Rs 46.25 lakh; 4 two-wheelers worth Rs 2.40 lakhs; Fixed deposits, Bank and Insurance deposits worth approx Rs 37 lakh; and cash Rs1.94 Lakhs, household articles and stocks of 2 crusher units at Khordha and Biswanathpur in Kalahandi district, the release said.
