Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Yaas is likely to intensify into ‘very severe cyclonic storm’ by today evening, informed the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
Windspeed in districts like Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur will reach around 80 kmph after today midnight, said the IMD DG.
Cyclone Yaas impact will be high 6 hours before and after the landfall. While big trees and electric poles may get uprooted, Chandbali is likely to witness maximum damage due to the cyclone. People should stay indoors during cyclone, he further stated.
