Cyclone FANI aftermath: Efforts on to restore water supply in city


Bhubaneswar: Following the hit of the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm FANI in Odisha on May 3, the state government has initiated efforts to restore drinking water supply in Bhubaneswar.

According to available information, water is being supplied from the two stations by Diesel Generator (DG). The two stations are located at Palasuni and Bhuasuni in the city. The pumping stations provide drinking water to 40 per cent areas of the capital city.

Similarly, the pumping station at Mundali which is run by the power supply and DG will likely cover the remaining 60 per cent areas of Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, drinking water is being supplied in various areas of the city through 78 water tankers.

Moreover, two engineers and an expert from Kolkata have been deployed to resume water supply from the station without any hassle, sources said.
