Bhubaneswar: As Cyclone Bulbul is all set to make landfall tonight, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rainfall warning for Odisha, West Bengal, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam & Meghalaya for 9th and 10th November in view of the very severe cyclonic storm.
The IMD has also issued wind warnings.
Light to moderate rainfall at most places very likely over north coastal districts of Odisha (Puri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Bal.ore and Jagatsinghpur districts) during the next 06 hours.
Light to moderate rainfall at most places very likely over north coastal districts of Odisha with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Jagatinghpur districts and with heavy falls at isolated places over Jajpur district on 9th November 2019.
West Bengal: Light to moderate rainfall at many places very likely over North and South 2/ Parganas and east Medinipur districts during the next 06 hours.
Light to moderate rainfall at most places very likely over coastal districts districts of West Bengal with heavy to very heavy falls at a at a few places and extremely heavy falls at isolated places over North 8 Sa. 2/ Parganas, East Medinipur, and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over West Medinipur, Howrah and Hoogly on 9th November 2019.
Light to moderate rainfall at most places very likely over coastal districts of West Bengal with heavy falls at isolated places over North and South Parganas and Nadiya on 10th November 2019,
Light to moderate rainfall at many places with isolated heavy falls very likely over Mizoram and Tripura on 9th November and over South Assam & Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram on 10th November.
Bay of Bengal: Gale wind speed reaching 140-150 kmph gusting to 165 kmph is prevailing over northwest & adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal around the system centre. lt is very likely to increase gradually and become 105-155 krnph gusting to 170kmph by 9th morning and decrease gradually thereafter.
Odisha Coast: Squally wind speed reaching 50-00 krnph gusting to 70 kmph is prevailing along 8 off Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore a. Bhadrak It is very likely to become Gale wind speed reaching 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph from morning hours of 9th November along & off Jagatinghpur, Kendrapara, Balasore and Bhadrak districts for subsequent 12 hours and decrease thereafter. P. and Ganjarn districts are likely to experience squally Wnd speed reaching 00-50 kmph gusting to 60 krnph during next 20 hours.
West Bengal Coast: Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 80 kmph is prevailing over the West Bengal coast.
Sea condition: Sea condition is rough to very rough along 8 off Odisha and West Bengal masts and to become high to very high on 9th & 10th November. Sea condition is very likely to be phenomenal over west central Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours, over the northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. Sea condition will be high to very high over the northeast Bay of Bengal during e evening to 10th morning and become rough to very rough for the subsequent 12 hours.
