Cuttack: Cyber fraudsters have swindled over Rs 77 lakh from the bank account of a retired doctor in Bhubaneswar. The cyber crime had occurred during February 9-15.
The retired doctor, Sanatan Mohanty was working in NTPC. Reports said Mohanty got a call that his BSNL mobile SIM will be inactive soon and asked he was for his CVV, OTP and other details for reactivation.
After getting the information, the cyber criminals withdrew over Rs 77 lakh through online transactions in a few minutes.
The retired doctor had received the call having an eight digit number. They have hacked the accounts of Mohanty and looted the money online.
