Cuttack: A massive fire broke out in the Odisha Gramya Bank’s regional office at Mahanadi Vihar under Chauliaganj police station in Cuttack city.
According to reports, locals saw thick smoke billowing out of a surgical shop in the building and informed the fire brigade. Later, fire engines rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.
Several important documents, computers and other properties worth over lakhs were gutted in the flames.
Though the exact cause behind the fire mishap is yet to be ascertained, Fire Services personnel suspect a short-circuit could be the cause of the fire.
