Cuttack: An engineering girl student was on Tuesday brutally stabbed by a youth near Pratap Nagari area under Sadar PS here.
According to reports, the victim was returning home from college when the incident occured.
While the exact cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected to be a matter of a one-sided love affair.
Reportedly, the victim has been admitted to the hospital with critical injuries on her hand and thigh, said sources.
However, the identity of the assailant was not known immediately.
Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.
