Cuttack Congress seeks Crime Branch probe into OCA scam

Cuttack: The Cuttack district Congress members have filed a complaint at the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch alleging a scam to the tune of Rs 475 crores in Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and Odisha Olympic Association (OOA). Demanding an unbiased probe into the matter the district Congress has also sought to remove the liquor shops inside Barabati Stadium premise.

Cuttack City Congress Committee president Md Mokim said that reviewing the audit report by the Supreme Court it is evident that there has been rampant corruption in OCA. “The Centre has also ordered a CBI probe into the matter. But why has the state government maintained silence over the issue?” he asked.

The Congress leader alleged that former OCA secretary Asirbad Behera and his family members had taken control of Barabati Stadium for over 16 years and accumulated wealth worth crores. They have also not submitted proper details of the income from the 30 odd shops that had opened in the stadium premise, Mokim said.
