Koraput: The Department of Business Management, Central University of Odisha, organized a seminar talk on “Communication Skills for Managers”.
Inaugurating the seminar, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Sharat Kumar Palita congratulated the department for organizing the programme and highlighted the importance of management not only in business but in various walks of life including environmental management. He also spoke about the importance of communication skills in the life a manager.
Eminent scholar in the field of communication, Prof Sunil Kant Behera, Visiting Professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication & Advisor, IQAC, Central University of Odisha delivered the talk as Chief Speaker.
In his two-hour long talk, Prof Behera, explained at length the importance and the types of communications. To overcome barriers to effective communication, he advised that students need to expose themselves to diverse cultural milieus to appreciate the intricacies of communication skills.
Addressing the gathering, Registrar Dr. Asit Kumar Das expressed his happiness for having organized the much-needed seminar talk and assured of all help in future for the all-round development of the students.
The Controller of Examinations Dr. Ram Shankar wished the programme all the best and motivated the students for organizing more such programmes to sharpen the managerial skills. Prasant Kumar Behera, HoD, Business Management delivered the welcome address online and highlighted the salient features of the Department and student achievements. Dr Subash Chandra Pattnaik, Coordinator, MBA Programme, introduced the theme of the talk by putting managerial communication in perspective.
