Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper and a minor boy were killed on Friday when terrorists attacked a team of security forces in Bijbehara of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The incident took place when terrorists opened fire at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party deployed in highway security in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district.
According to details, motorcycle-borne terrorists fired indiscriminately at the CRPF party in which the CRPF jawan and the minor child were injured.
The CRPF personnel and the boy were injured in the attack and were taken to a hospital where both of them succumbed.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the attackers.
The martyred CRPF jawan was identified as Shymal Kumar. He was hit by a bullet in the head and the five-year-old as Nehan was critically injured.
In another incident, at least two terrorists were killed by security forces in a gunfight, which was raging since Thursday evening in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
