Ganjam: The Anganwadi worker, Namita Dalai, who is posted Ward no 9 in Berhampur Municipal corporation (BeMc), turned out to be a crorepati and was arrested on the charge of possessing assets disproportionate to her known source of income.
Reportedly, vigilance sleuths detected assets worth at least Rs 2.20 crore from her possession.
Notably, Simultaneous searches were conducted at Namita’s residential house at Laxmi Nrusingha Nagar in Berhampur, another building at the same locality, the house at Ganesh Nagar, two apartments at Bhubaneswar and her relative’s house at Dalua street, Berhampur.
Moreover, she also owned a self-operating chhatua (sattu) unit at her house.
Namita entered into service as an Anganwadi worker in 1990, the SP added.
