Bhubaneswar: Crime Branch Additional DG police Arun Bothra met DGP Sunil Bansal in presence of Director (intelligence) Sanjeeb Panda during meeting in order to discuss NabaDas murder case.
Besides, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday said the state crime branch is seeking the help of the US’ FBI on the brutal murder case of Odisha Minister Naba Kishore Das as they have the best expertise in behavioural analysis.
Odisha minister Naba Kishore Das was shot in the chest, allegedly by Gopal Das, at Gandhi Chhak in Brajrajnagar area of Jharsuguda district on January 29. He died at a Bhubaneswar hospital hours later.
A local Court in Jharsuguda on Monday rejected the prayer for further mental health examination of the former Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of police- Gopal Krishna Das, who had gunned down former Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das in Brajarajnagar of Jharsuguda district on 29 January.a
Though the Crime Branch, in an official statement issued on Monday, has come out with revelation that the killer cop had a prolonged history of mental illness, it is not backed up by conclusive medical evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the assailant was undergoing bouts of psychiatric disorder.
