COVID Surge: Shutdown Declared In Chandahandi Sadar Panchayat


Nabarangpur: Amid a massive surge in COVID cases, the Sarpanch of Chandahandi Sadar panchayat has declared a shutdown in the area from today (April 21, 2021) to April 28, 2021.

According to reports, the decision came after 12 more from Sandhimunda village bordering Chhattisgarh State and 11 persons from the Chandahandi hospital tested positive for COVID-19.

Worth mentioning, in view of the rapid surge in infections and mounting cases, the Odisha government on Thursday had announced weekend shutdown in urban areas of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts which share borders with Chhattisgarh, that has emerged as a Covid hotspot.
