Kandhamal: A man was forced to carry the body of his wife to the Mahaprayan vehicle after medical staff refused to lend a hand fearing Covid infection.
The incident has been reported from Phulbani district headquarters hospital and a video of the same went viral on social media.
As per reports, the man, identified as Balakrushna Kanhar of Motingia village under Phiringia block in the district, admitted his wife to the hospital on June 29 as she was suffering from Anemia.
However, her condition started deteriorating yesterday and she succumbed to death on Thursday evening.
While Balakrushna called the Mahaprayan vehicle to carry the body to his home after completing necessary medical formalities, he asked medical staff to assist him carrying the body.
However, no one helped fearing Covid infection.
With no other options left, Balakrushna carried the body and came down to the hearse van. A video of Balakrushna walking along on the staircase with the body is doing rounds on social media platforms.
