COVID pandemic: Pope lavishes praise on Indian medics for selfless service


Vatican City: Pope Francis has heaped praises on Indian medics for their selfless service to keep the second wave of deadly coronavirus at bay.

The pontiff, in a message to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference in India, offered good wishes and heartfelt solidarity with the people of India in this hour of critical juncture.

He said many doctors, nurses, hospital workers, ambulance drivers and those working tirelessly to respond to the immediate needs of their brothers and sisters deserve praise for their service during the crisis.

India is presently battling a wave of Covid-19 which is ravaging the country killing thousands of people on a daily basis due to acute shortage of beds and oxygen.
