Varanasi: A 26-year-old woman who had tested negative for coronavirus before the delivery has given birth to a baby who was tested COVID-19 positive in Varanasi.
As per reports, the woman was admitted to SSL Hospital in Banaras Hindu University on May 24 and tested negative before the delivery. However, the newborn’s test report came positive despite her mother testing negative for the virus.
The family and doctors are shocked over the newborn being Covid positive. The mother-daughter duo will be tested again in a few days for Covid, BHU hospital said.
