Bhubaneswar: With an increasing number of COVID cases and new challenges amid the infection, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has come up with some new initiatives for senior citizens residing in the State capital.
From Monday onwards, the Senior citizens, who are living alone in the State capital, will be provided with pick and drop facility for COVID-19 vaccination. For which, the beneficiaries have to dial 1929 to get the facility.
The announcement was made by the BMC Commissioner Sanjay Singh during a press meet this afternoon.
Besides, the citizens who have any symptoms can dial 1929 and share their residential address. After receiving the address, a van will arrive at their doorstep to collect the sample for COVID-19 test, said the Commissioner.
The BMC Commissioner further stated that the drive-in vaccination, which was underway at five different places around Bhubaneswar will continue after May 15.
