Cuttack: A man, who had been admitted in one of the COVID-19 wards at a hospital in Cuttack’s Tangi area, allegedly attempted suicide on Friday by slitting his throat.
According to reports, the victim, who runs a mobile shop in the Tangi area, was infected by Coronavirus a few days ago and was admitted to a local hospital subsequently.
He was, however, scared that he may not recover from the deadly infection and decided to end his life. Following this, he took the extreme step and slit his throat this morning.
On being informed about the incident, hospital staff and locals rushed him to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment. His condition was said to be stable.
