Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla here has been sealed for 7 days after a woman teacher of the institution tested positive for deadly virus today.
This was informed by the vice-chancellor of the varsity Atal Choudhury.
According to sources, a 52-year-old woman teacher’s husband, undergoing treatment at VIMSAR in Burla, had died of Covid-19 on Tuesday. Following this, the varsity was shutdown for a day.
Later, the deceased’s wife tested positive for the virus. After the reports, the district administration and VSSUT authorities decided to seal the campus for seven days for its sanitisation.
The campus has been declared as a ‘No Entry Zone’, the vice-chancellor said.
Meanwhile, all staffers of the Civil Engineering Department of VSSUT have been placed under home quarantine.
