Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Monday reported its first coronavirus positive case here. The man affected by COVID-19 is being treated at Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar.
As per reports, the 33-year-old man, who was studying in Italy, reached Delhi on March 6 and was quarantined in the national capital. However, he tested negative for coronavirus following which he returned to Odisha through a train (probably Rajdhani Express) on March 12 reportedly to avoid scrutiny.
Later, on March 13, he showed symptoms of the deadly disease including fever and cold. He was admitted to Capital hospital on March 14 and reports suggested that he is infected by COVID-19.
Swab and blood test reports of the person received by the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar showed him to be coronavirus positive.
Reportedly, the patient has been kept in the isolation ward in Capital hospital here. Besides, the family members of the patient, are also under observation.
Meanwhile, authorities are trying to trace the persons with whom the Italy returnee student came in contact during his journey to India and eventually to Odisha.
