COVID-19: Odisha Records 644 Fresh Infections, 17 Deaths

Bhubaneswar: The State on Wednesday reported 644 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number to 3,16,645. With 17 deaths, the toll rose to 1,704.

Of the total fresh cases, 369 have been reported from different quarantine centres while 275 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department today.

Cuttack recorded the highest of 64 fresh cases followed by Sundargarh (62) and Angul (50).

Currently, the number of total active cases in the state stands at 6,786 and recovered cases at 3,08,102.
Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 17 more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 1704.

On the other hand, 17 persons succumbed to the deadly virus in the past 24 hours.

The fresh fatalities were reported from Sundargarh district (5), Puri district (4), Khordha district (3), Angul district (2), Dhenkanal district (1), Kalahandi district (1) and Mayurbhanj district (1) in a single day.

1.A 25-year-old male of Angul district.

2.A 75-year-old male of Angul district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

3.A 34-year-old male of Bhubaneswar

4.A 62-year-old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus with Trochanter Fracture.

5.A 80-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus with Cellulitis left foot.

6.A 65-year-old male of Dhenkanal district.
7.A 70-year-old male of Kalahandi district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

8.A 84-year-old male of Mayurbhanj district.

9.A 83-year-old male of Puri district.

10.A 75-year-old male of Puri district.

11.A 53-year-old male of Puri district.

12.A 67-year-old male of Puri district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

13.A 64-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

14.A 68-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from MODS.

15.A 56-year-old female of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

16.A 62-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
