COVID-19 death toll rises above 1.31 lakh in India

New Delhi: With 45,576 new Covid-19 infections, India’s total cases rose to 89,58,484. The death toll in India due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has risen to 1,31,578 with 585 new fatalities, the Union Health Ministry has said.

The reported active COVID-19 cases in India stand at 4,43,303. As many as 83,83,602 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far.

Delhi’s coronavirus tally on Wednesday climbed to over 500,000 after 7,486 fresh cases and 131 new fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 7,943. This is the highest number of deaths reported in the city so far.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a cumulative total of 12,85,08,389 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to November 18 with 10,28,203 samples being tested on Wednesday.
