COVID-19: D Prakash Rao Moved To ICU As Health Condition Worsens

Cuttack: Padma Shri D Prakash Rao, who was admitted to the SCB Medical College & Hospital here after being infected with the COVID-19, has been moved to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after his health condition deteriorated.

This was informed by Dr Jayant Panda, who is heading a team of doctors constituted for treatment of the veteran social worker.

According to reports, Rao has been shifted to ICU of the Pulmonology department in the hospital following deterioration of health condition and was put on oxygen support after decrease in his blood oxygen saturation.

A team of doctors comprising of Dr Jayant Panda (Medicine), Dr Jyoti Patnaik (Pulmonary), Dr Bidyut Das (HoD, Rheumatology), Dr Umesh Patra (HoD, Hepatology), Dr RK Jena (HoD, Hematology) and Dr Satyanarayan Routray (HoD, Cardiology) is engaged for treatment of Rao at the hospital.

Rao was conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award on Republic Day in 2019 by the Government of India for his contribution towards boosting the value of education among slum and orphan kids in Cuttack.
