Boudh: A couple was killed while three persons were injured in a road mishap at Chari Chhak under Purunacuttack police limits in Boudh district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Surendra Nayak and his wife Namita Nayak of Mandar village under Belaguntha Block in the Ganjam district.
As per reports, the incident took place while Surendra along with his wife and three others were heading to Rourkela from Berhampur on their four-wheeler when the driver lost control over the wheels and rammed into a roadside tree.
While Surendra and his wife died on the spot, three others sustained critical injuries in the accident.
On being informed, fire tenders rushed the spot and rescued the three injured from inside the vehicle. The injured persons have been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On the other hand, Police also reached the spot and sent the dead bodies for post-mortem. An investigation has been initiated in this regard, Sources said.
