New Delhi: China has now categorically stated that coronavirus was neither created nor intentionally transmitted by them.
The Chinese spokesperson Ji Rong said calling it “Chinese virus” or “Wuhan virus” is very wrong. He said the global community must focus on China’s “prompt response” to tackle the pandemic instead of “stereotyping the Chinese people”, news agencies said.
The US President Donald Trump has been calling it ‘a Chinese virus’ at all his press conferences and official statements ever since the pandemic broke out more than two months ago.
Ji said that India has provided China with medical supplies and aided the fight against the contagion in several ways. “We express appreciation and thanks for that,” the Chinese spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said though Wuhan reported the outbreak first, there is still no evidence to prove that China is indeed the source of the COVID-19 virus.
