New Delhi: India has recorded over 28,000 new cases in a day to take its total number of Covid-19 cases over 9 lakh. This is the third consecutive day when India has recorded over 28,000 new cases.
Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 9,06,752, according to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry. This number includes cases involving foreign nationals, patients who have recovered and the death toll.
The death toll in India due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has risen to 23,727.
The reported active COVID-19 cases in India now stand at 3,11,565, according to the Union Health Ministry.

As many as 5,71,459 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far.
With 2,60,924 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in the country, followed by Tamil Nadu (1,42,798) and Delhi (1,13,740).
There are 3,11,565 active cases of the coronavirus infection currently in the country. The recovery rate currently stands at 63.02% while the number of recoveries exceed active cases by 2.59 lakh.
This is the fifth consecutive day that COVID-19 cases in the country have increased by more than 26,000.
The health ministry said that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.
