Beijing: Public health emergency was activated in Central China’s Hubei province on Wednesday to tackle coronavirus first spotted in Wuhan.
Media reports said under the emergency response system, the authorities will strengthen efforts in seven aspects including quarantine, infection information reporting and material supply in the control of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
Reports said local governments at various levels should designate hospitals to receive the suspected and confirmed cases.
Pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus was first reported in Wuhan in December, 2019. Authorities said 440 confirmed cases were reported on the Chinese mainland. Nine persons have so far died.
