Malkangiri: A teacher who jumped into the river to end his life was rescued by a cop near Chitapari village under Orkel police limits in Malkangiri district.
According to reports, the man who is a teacher by profession tried to commit suicide by jumping from the Orkel-Chitapari bridge.
On being informed, Orkel ASI Ajit Sarangi reached the spot and rescued the victim successfully by jumping into the river.
Thereafter, the teacher was rushed to Balimela health centre and his health condition is said to be stable now. However, the exact reason behind the suicide bid is yet to be ascertained.
